One, plastic parts forming process
Plastic injection molding products due to the inevitable existence of the characteristics of the process of internal stress, but the process conditions control properly will make the plastic part of the stress to the minimum, to ensure the normal use of the product. On the contrary, if the process control is not properly, it will make the products have a great internal stress, not only to make the strength of the part of the decline, but also in the storage and use of the process of warping deformation and even cracking, resulting in the coating of the cracking, and even fall off. So the control of process parameters should make the internal stress as small as possible. To control the mold plating process conditions are raw material drying, mold temperature, processing temperature, injection speed, injection time, injection pressure, pressure, pressure, cooling time, etc..
Two, plastic parts selection
There are a lot of plastic, but not all plastics can be plated. There is no practical value in the combination of the plastic and metal layer, and some physical properties of the plastic and metal coating, such as the expansion coefficient difference, can not be used in the high temperature difference environment. At present the most used for mold plating is ABS, followed by PP. In addition, PC, PTFE, PSF, etc. also have a successful plating method, but it is difficult to.
Three, plastic parts postprocessing on the impact of electroplating
Because of injection molding conditions, injection molding machine selection, product design and mold design reasons, it will make the plastic parts in different parts of the existence of internal stress, it will cause local coarsening problem, so that the activation and the difficulty of metal, and eventually cause the metal layer is not resistant to collision and binding force. Experiments show that heat treatment and surface treatment can effectively reduce and eliminate the internal stress, so that the coating adhesion is increased by 20 ~ 6O%.
In addition, plastic molding the special packaging, isolation, prohibited bumps, scratch the surface, so as not to affect the appearance of electroplating. Inspection the inspector should wear gloves degreasing, to prevent contamination of plating, influence the bonding strength of coating.
Four, injection machine selection
Improper injection machine, sometimes because of high pressure, nozzle structure is not suitable or mixed material to produce a greater internal stress, thereby affecting the binding force of the coating.
Five, mold design and manufacturing
In order to ensure that the surface of the plastic plating is no defect, no obvious directional organization structure and internal stress, in the design and manufacture of mold should meet the following requirements.
(1) die material not to be used for beryllium bronze alloy, should be made of high quality vacuum cast steel, the cavity surface should be polished to a mirror bright, not less than 0.2m, the surface of the best hard chromium plating.
(2) the surface of the mold cavity is truthfully reflected on the surface of the mold, so the mold cavity of the plastic parts of the plating should be very smooth, and the surface roughness of the mold cavity should be 1 ~ 2 higher than that of the surface roughness of the workpiece.
(3) the parting surface, the weld line, and the core of the core can not be designed on the plating surface.
(4) the gate shall be designed in the most part of the workpiece. In order to prevent the molten material filling mold cavity, the cooling is fast, the gate should be as large as possible, the best use of circular cross section of the gate and runner, runner length should be shorter.
(5) should have holes to avoid gas wire and bubble defects in workpiece surface.
(6) the selection of the ejector mechanism shall ensure that the product is well off.
